You're sitting on your sofa doing your nails. The nail polish bottle slips and drops on your lovely carpet! What to do? Well, the obvious solution may seem to apply nail polish remover but DON'T! Nail polish removers may contain acetone and this could easily damage your carpet or rug rather than clean it.
We would suggest doing the following as quickly as possible. Try to remove as much of the nail polish as you can. Perhaps dab off with a piece of kitchen towel. Then apply amyl acetate. This is available from most chemists or pharmacists. You can put some of the amyl acetate directly onto the carpet stain and then put more on to something absorbant and apply on top of the stain. Try to keep the stain moist for 15 to 20 minutes. See how much of the nail polish you can remove and then apply a dry cleaning solvent.
If you can't manage to get the stain out, then perhaps you need to call Fastclean Scotland.
